How do these 5th and 6th graders play the music they do?  Well, there are no shortcuts.  The band rehearses during their lunch time to get the sound that they do.  Throughout the year, they've learned to play nearly 20+ songs, and play them well.  The hours of focus, practice, fun, and sacrifice throughout the year give the band the sound they want and teach them to finish what they start.
