These are the Ruus Shakespeareans

Every year they produce an unabridged play by William Shakespeare that they perform in the spring.  Along with this, they also perform full rock songs in their rock and roll band, where they learn guitar, keyboard, drums, and other instruments.

They spend the year learning new vocabulary, teamwork, discipline, patience, and speaking confidently in front of others.  The mottos they hear all year long are “Be Nice, Work Hard” and “There Are No Shortcuts”.  While they work on Shakespeare after school, during the day it’s reading, writing, math, history, science, art, and PE.

All of this takes place in a regular public school classroom at Ruus Elementary in Hayward, CA.  These students have shown that once they've been given the opportunity, they will make the most of it.
